NodeRecipe publishes practical, tested n8n tutorials, workflow templates, and AI-agent automation guides — written for people who actually build automations, not just read about them.

Who writes this

I'm Ali Ilyas, and I write and maintain everything here. I build automation and AI systems for a living — n8n, Make and Zapier workflows, AI agents and RAG chatbots, and the full-stack apps (TypeScript, Next.js, Node, Postgres/Supabase) they plug into. n8n is part of my day-to-day toolkit, not a topic I researched to fill a blog.

That's the whole editorial premise: every guide here comes from a setup I actually ran. When a step is fiddly or a default is wrong, I've usually hit it myself first.

How these guides get written

Every guide starts as a workflow running on a real n8n instance. Steps are executed in the version named at the top of the article — currently n8n 2.32.7 — before anything is written down, which is why the guides tend to spend more space on the defaults that bite you than on the happy path.

Most of what's here exists because something failed in a way the documentation didn't predict: a trigger that works in the editor and goes silent once activated, an OAuth app that runs for exactly seven days, a workflow that stops running and never reports it because a run that never happened cannot fail. Those are the articles worth writing, and they're hard to write without having lost an afternoon to them first.

The templates are the proof

Writing about automation is easy to fake, so the workflows are published in full. All eight are real exports — on GitHub under the MIT licence and on the templates page. Free, no email required, nothing gated. Each one carries its setup instructions on the canvas as sticky notes, including the constraints that decide whether it actually works in production.

If a template breaks on your n8n version, that's a bug worth reporting — the repository takes issues.

Editorial standards

• Steps are tested against current n8n versions before publishing.
• Guides are dated and updated when the platform changes.
• Corrections are made in place rather than quietly deleted. If something here is wrong, it should be fixed where you found it.
• Nothing here is sponsored, and no vendor has any say over what gets covered or how.

How the site makes money

Right now, it doesn't. There are currently no affiliate links on this site and no paid placements. If that changes, affiliate links will be disclosed on the page that carries them — not buried in a policy — and recommendations won't change because a product started paying. The self-hosting guides point at self-hosting for the same reason: it's usually the right answer, and it isn't the one that would pay best.
